Services

The Southeast Louisana Sport Education Program (SELASEP) is a grassroots, not-for-profit organization that hosts basketball tournaments, conducts clinics, offers college scholarship programs, mentoring programs, tutorial programs and manages touring basketball teams. Since its inception, SELASEP has grown steadily, launching a full slate of athletic and educational programming and events in 2006.

SELASEP is designed to use basketball as a “tool” to assist young people in their athletic, educational, professional and life skill development.

SELASEP continues to create an environment promoting educational excellence and basketball events for the purpose of obtaining college scholarships, exposure, internships, employment and networking opportunities for its participants.

SELASEP serves as an asset to the community by serving as a clearinghouse to educate and assist parents on the process of finding and selecting those academic, athletic, and scholarship programs best suited to the needs of their children.

SELASEP works closely with college and high school coaches to identify academically qualified students, build contacts between schools, and to facilitate the transition from high school to college athletics for student-athletes.

In addition, SELASEP reaches out to other community groups, sharing resources and collaborating on events in order to achieve a common goal of educating and supporting youth and families.

SELASEP is always expanding its horizons, to more effectively reach a greater number of people within southeast Louisiana, the state of Louisiana and the United States, domestically and internationally.
